Founder and General Partner
Sam runs Eos Venture Partners, an independent, specialist investment and advisory business for leading InsurTech innovators. Eos was established in 2016 to facilitate investment for the growing number of InsurTech start-ups.
Prior to establishing Eos, Sam was a partner at KPMG where he led the Global Deal Advisory business for insurance. During his career, Sam has worked on over $75bn of insurance related transactions and has worked in many of the large mature and high growth insurance markets around the globe having lived in Australia, Hong Kong, Switzerland and the UK.
Jonathan is a General Partner with Eos Venture Partners, having previously served on its Investment Committee. Jonathan has 18 years of FinTech and InsurTech investing experience, as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of Jaguar Capital Partners, and prior to that as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of Katalyst, an Internet Accelerator.
Jonathan has had many notable exits, including the sale of Blockchain provider INVeSHARE to Broadridge Financial Group (NYSE: BR), Enerwise acquired by ComVerge, ERisk acquired by SunGard and several IPO’s including Breakaway Solutions (NASDAQ: BWAY), China Cablecom Ltd. (NASDAQ: CABL) and Internet Capital Group (NASDAQ: ICGE), now Actua (NASDAQ: ACTA).
Carl G. Bauer-Schlichtegroll
Carl joined Eos as a member of the investment committee in 2016 before also joining as a General Partner in early 2017. Carl has spent his career as financial services investment banker mostly focused on insurance. He has held senior positions at Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Credit Suisse and Greenhill over a 25 year period.
On the InsurTech/Fintech front, Carl has advised clients in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, France and Scandinavia including as a member of associated advisory boards. He is also an active venture capital investor and sits on a number of advisory boards.
James joined Eos in January 2017 and focusses on the sourcing, evaluation and execution of investments.
Prior to joining Eos, James was an Associate Director at KPMG within the Insurance Deal Advisory team where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. James has extensive transaction related experience in the insurance sector, including general, life, Lloyd’s and distribution.
Senior Legal Counsel
Kate is Eos Venture Partners’ senior legal counsel and strategic advisor based in California and with extensive experience in Silicon Valley.
Kate has almost 20 years of experience with domestic and cross-border investments and strategic transactions. Prior to joining Eos, Kate was an Assistant General Counsel at Intel Corporation and has worked with Skadden, Arps, Kirkland & Ellis and Wilson Sonsini. Kate has a J.D. and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan and a B.S. from Cornell University.
Stephen brings a background and expertise in the areas of Corporate Finance, financial modelling, financial engineering and management to Eos. Stephen is currently advising Eos on due diligence, financial modelling and analysis.
Stephen is currently a Senior Financial Analyst at Convista Consulting A.G helping execute on their InsurTech digital strategy. Stephen has worked as a Senior Associate at Jaguar Capital Partners I, L.P., sourcing and evaluating deals in the insurance and InsurTech sector. He has had operational roles in Business Development, Corporate Finance, Product Strategy, Management Consulting and Market Analysis. Stephen has also led financial transformation initiatives, managed both buy and sell-side due diligence and overseen corporate finance, budgeting and product R&D.
Matthew holds an M.B.A, with specialisations in strategic management and finance from Villanova University, a J.D. from the Delaware Law School at Widener University, and a B.A. from Le Moyne College.
Prior to joining Eos, Matthew worked as General Counsel for Jaguar Capital Partners I, L.P., where he managed the firm’s legal activities across its global operations and investments in the insurance and InsurTech sector. Matthew previously worked at ConVista Consulting A.G. where he counselled the company on a number of issues including: strategic partnerships; intellectual-property protection; employment law and other operational and transactional matters.
